This plastic section of a mouse cerebellum shows the presence of a layer of Bergmann astrocytes (arrows) which have oval nuclei and pale nucleoplasm compared to adjacent granule cell neurons. A Purkinje cell undergoing dark cell change is included. (Toluidine blue stained one micron plastic section)
