Washington University Experience | BASIC PROCESSES | Biondi Bodies | 1 Biondi bodies or rings (Case 1) Thio-S 20
Biondi bodies are intracellular accumulations of amyloid (not beta-amyloid) fibrils forming a wispy or ring-like structure which consistently accumulate with age in the choroid plexus and, to a lesser degree, ependyma. Because of their structure they resist autolysis and may be used as an indicator of age in forensic cases (Thio-S).
