Some unusual astrocytic cells (Creutzfeldt cells) contain multiple distinct micronuclei. In some cases the appearance is more that of a "granular mitosis" of the type often encountered in high grade gliomas. It is not clear to me that all neuropathologists use the term in the same manner and so I have (probably artificially) separated them in this section.
