Clinical History: The patient was a 4 month old child with neonatal hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) (biallelic variant in PFR1 with loss of perforin expression), with accompanying hepatosplenomegaly and right lower lobe lung infarct. The ependymal seam was an incidental finding. ---- 9A1-5 Multiple images from this infant showing a developmental ependymal fusion seam. In adults they often contain thick walled microvasculature which is lacking in this case. (H&E)
