1A1,2 MRI of a patient with a remote history of infarction involving deep white matter forming a significant part of the right internal capsule. The infarct has resulted in downstream tract degeneration visible as a decrease in the size of the right cerebral peduncle (arrow, MRI, 1A1) and shrinkage of one half of the right striate pons (arrow, 1A2).
