2A1-4 Series of images of detailed downstream degeneration of descending fibers somewhat lateral to the pyramidal tract (likely frontopontine fibers) resulting from white matter destructive TREX1 leukodystrophy. Comparable areas are shown sequentially with H&E, LFB-PAS and Bielschowsky stains. Whole mount and various magnifications of pontine degenerating white matter tracts (arrow) (H&E). The pale area in the central pons consists of gray matter, not central pontine myelinolysis.
