This patient (Case 5) suffered a large right middle cerebral artery infarct several weeks before his death, but appears to have had some complaints in anticipation of the major infarct. The whole mount of his spinal cord shows pallor in one descending lateral corticospinal tract (arrows).
Multiple sections are shown stained with multiple techniques and at various magnifications in subsequent images.
