Questionable case of agenesis of the corpus callosum is suspicious for artificial postmortem rupture of the corpus of a soft neonatal brain. Examination with whole mount histologic sections shows a thinned corpus and loss of transverse running axons. Staining for neurofilaments is complex (images #10A3,10A4). The red arrow (#10A3) is most consistent with fornix and the blue arrows identify possible Probst bundles, seen at higher magnification in images #10A4, #10A5. Axons directed transversely, as might be expected if a normal corpus was artificially torn during dissection, are not identified.
