6A1,2 The yellow tint of this specimen is due to Bouin's fixative, used for a time with the idea that it might harden up a neonatal brain (a poor idea since it produces this bizarre color). Conversion to black and white image (#6A2) results in an excellent demonstration of replacement of the cingulate gyrus with radial gyri.
