1B1-6 Microscopic examination of the pachygyric areas in Case #1 show a 4 layer cortex and additional associated columnar disorganization and heterotopic nodules. ---- Image #1B1 This section of the 4 layered cortex shows the myelinated layer (arrowhead) and the underlying fourth layer between the arrowhead and arrow. The arrow marks the junction between the fourth layer and the white matter (LFB-PAS).
