Sections of the brain biopsy show fragments of a collapsed cyst with bland, cuboidal to columnar epithelial lining, stratified in some areas and surrounded by collagen or in other areas by gliotic parenchyma with scattered Rosenthal fibers. No keratin formation is seen and there are no obvious goblet cells. The differential diagnosis included a glioependymal cyst, neurenteric cyst, and arachnoidal cyst. (H&E),
