1A1-3 Neurons may occupy layer 1 of the cerebral cortex as part of a number of complex malformations or alone in small numbers. Neurons in layer 1 also include Cajal-Retzius cells, a usually transient type of neuron located in the developing nervous system which may persist. (H&E)
