1A1 Encephalocoele (Nasal Glioma) (Case 1) T1 3D 2 copy
1A1,2 A nasal "glioma" is a misnomer, probably a better term is heterotopic neuroglial tissue, and represents a rare congenital lesion which can be located in a variety of sites. It may occasionally maintain a intracranial connection. Nasal gliomata are thought to arise as a consequence of incomplete closure of the anterior fontanelle between the nasal and frontal bones. ---- The intranasal mass is marked with an arrowhead in this T1 MRI.
