Focal Cortical Dysplasia, Type Ib (FCD with Abnormal Tangential Layer Composition) ---- 1A1-3 This is for me the most difficult category to identify confidently. Neurons are arranged in an abnormal tangential layer composition, often with a thin cortex and without layering. Dysmorphic neurons and balloon cells are conspicuously absent. (H&E)
