This is the cortex of a child with complex holoprosencephaly spectrum and leptomeningeal thickening. ---- Numerous glioneuronal heterotopia are present in the leptomeninges in these low magnification images. The underlying cortical laminae contain scattered mineralized neurons (arrows, 8A2) (H&E).
