One margin of the monoventricle is shown at several magnifications. The edge has a hippocampal appearance (arrow) with dentate gyrus like collections of small cells. The adjacent cortex (arrowheads) has the appearance of the pre-alpha clusters normally found in the region of the entorhinal cortex. (H&E)
