At autopsy the unfixed brain is 192g (normal:~1200g). The head is microcephalic. The dorsal view of the CNS contents shows a single cerebral cortical element (“alobar”) without evidence of any separation from this anterior view; however, the ventral view appears to show two lobes. There is no falx cerebri. A portion of the dura with a ventricular catheter is also seen (arrow).
