Case 5 - This is the brain of a 4 week old neonate born at the EGA of 29 weeks. CT near the time of birth identified hydranencephaly. ---- This is the dorsal view of the brain and thickened, discolored dura which fails to show cerebral hemispheres. There is a central mass at the skull base in the region of the deep gray nuclei.
