Case 7 - This is the brain of a 35 week EGA neonate born to a diabetic mother who died a short time after birth. There were frequent malformations involving sites extraneous to the CNS. ---- The appearance of the brain is reminiscent of holoprosencephaly; however, there are two clear hemispheres and the inspection of the cranial cavity demonstrated a cribriform plate, presence of a falx and a bony crista galli.
