Washington University Experience | DEVELOPMENTAL MALFORMATIONS | Hydromyelia | 1A1 Heterotopias, hydromyelia (Case 1)_17 - Copy
Multiple sections of the lumbosacral spinal cord are shown. It is difficult to separate hydromyelia from syrinx by gross pathology alone; however, symmetrical smooth walled expansion is most consistent with hydromyelia. Hydromyelia may be seen alone or in combination with other malformations including Arnold-Chiari malformation or, in this case, in association with a complex malformation including heterotopias.
