7M2 Meningoangiomatosis (NP23-269) Ki67 10X 2
Ki-67 proliferation index is <1% in the meningioangiomatosis part extending into the parenchyma and slightly higher, 3% in the overlying meningothelial proliferation. ---- Additional information (not shown): Fluorescence in situ hybridization studies are counted separately for the overlying meningothelial cell proliferation (area A) and the infiltrating trabeculae (area B). ---- Area A is positive for loss of 14q and negative for 1p36 deletion, loss of 22q, monosomy 10, and homozygous deletion of CDKN2A. ---- Area B is positive for loss of 14q, monosomy chromosome 1, loss of 22q, and monosomy 10. Area B is negative for homozygous loss of CDKN2A. ---- Comment: The collective features are consistent with meningioangiomatosis. This is a rare benign hamartomatous lesion that is not well characterized. There is an associated microscopic overlying meningothelial cell proliferation, which is felt to represent part of the meningioangiomatosis. This entity is distinct from a meningioma with brain invasion. The significance of the FISH results in our case is unclear.
