2A1-3 Gross appearance of resected cortical specimen of patient with SWS shows prominent leptomeningeal spongy vascular malformation. Calcifications (arrows, 2A3) are present in this specimen deep to the gray matter in the border with the subcortical white matter, in contrast to their typical intracortical distribution.
