1A1 Ulegyria (Case 1) 1
1A1,2 This is the surgical specimen removed from a patient with medically intractable seizures and a poorly characterized perinatal ischemic insult. The dorsal surface of the specimens appears remarkably well preserved but the cortex at the depths of the sulci (arrows) is diminished in size and often the depth of the sulci reach the (subcortical) white matter as shown by later histologic images.
