Case 10 History ---- The patient is a 55 year old man admitted after being found unconscious at home. Evaluation showed pneumonia and abscesses in the right frontal and parietal cerebral lobes. He had emergent aspirations of the brain abscesses with demonstration of gram positive cocci, although cultures did not demonstrate a discrete organism. He was treated with antibiotics. A recent MRI showed re-accumulation of purulent content. Operative procedure: Right craniotomy for abscess debridement.
