3A2,3 The large abscess cavity in this case is hyperintense to parenchyma in flair (3A2) and T1-weighted images with contrast (3A3). Notice the extent of perilesional edema in #3A3 which is also seen more clearly in the T2-weighted images (arrow, 3A4).
