7A1 Abscesses, Daughter copy
7A-D Daughter or satellite abscesses result from the extension from a central purulent mass, each surrounded by an incomplete fibrotic layer . Such abscesses often point toward the ventricle, reflecting the decreased formation of a fibrous wall within the white matter with its relative paucity of vasculature. Several abscesses arising from the subpial cortical gray matter extend into the white matter, eventually rupturing into the lateral ventricle (superior arrow) and spreading within the ventricle (lower arrow).
