The subarachnoid infiltrate ranges from purulent PMN rich infiltrate (arrows) to organizing infiltrate and granulation tissue (10B5-8) surrounding individual vessels (H&E). Note that the adjacent cortex (arrow, 10B6) shows invasion and necrosis by PMNs.
