Case 15 History ---- The patient was a 36 year old woman with unknown medical history who presented with fever, nausea, vomiting, and frontal headache. She became confused shortly thereafter and developed a fixed and dilated right pupil with seizures. Head CT showed massive brain swelling. Neurosurgical evaluation was that the patient was brain-dead. Culture showed diplococci.
