1H1,2 The second pattern consists of a focal lesion in the vicinity of the dentate nucleus (arrowhead, #1G1), more likely a vasculopathic pattern. This lesion represents an infarct, shown at higher magnification in 1H2 demonstrating eosinophilic neuronal necrosis (arrow, 1H2) surrounded by astrocytic proliferation and macrophages.
