Case 6 History ---- This 9 month old female patient became restless with vomiting, drowsiness and fever and was taken to an ER where she seized and developed hypotension. An LP showed 680 nucleated cells, largely PMNs and gram negative rods. She developed cerebral edema and died. Cultures grew Haemophilus influenzae.
