This whole mount of the frontal lobe shows cerebral cortex, ventricular walls and luminal content (arrow) consists of ongoing ventriculitis, hemosiderin stained walls from prior intraventricular hemorrhage and inspissated pus. The superficial cortex (arrowhead) does not show the histopathology of polymicrogyria and there is mild leptomeningeal fibrosis. (H&E)
