3B1 This vessel with intravascular hyperchromatic nuclei (arrow) is seen in association with areas of subacute infarction (arrowhead), although they appear to be caught up near or within infarcted areas significantly larger than accountable for by their caliber and frequency. ---- In other sites significantly larger vessels contain thromboemboli as well as more limited foci of bone marrow emboli appear more likely to account for larger infarcts.
