4B1-3 There is little about this lesion to suggest a tuberculous pathogenesis. The lesion appears to be a forming a classical abscess but AFB organisms were identified. Notice that there is a paucity of multinucleated giant cells. Image #4B3 shows the trilaminar constituents of the abscess ranging from necrosis at the left margin and reactive brain to the right side.
