Case 5 History ---- This patient was a 50 year old man with upper respiratory symptoms which did not resolve and were followed by the development of headache and confusion. An LP revealed 294 wbc, all mononuclear and a glucose <20. He was treated for TB but developed brain swelling and left hemiparesis and expired. Culture demonstrated Mycobacterium TB.
