Case 1 History ---- This patient was a 38 year old man with a history of chronic granulocytic leukemia, accelerated phase, who developed myelofibrosis and disseminated aspergillosis. ---- 1A1,2 This is a classic appearance of CNS aspergillosis consisting of necrosis and scattered hemorrhages involving the deep gray nuclei. I have described this distinctive appearance as "feathery", not purulent abscess, granulomata or hemorrhage alone.
