Case 1 History ---- The patient was a 34 year old man with AIDS (histories of thrush, pneumocystis pneumonia, anal herpes ulcer, and sinusitis). He had a one month history of progressive visual loss involving the right eye. An MRI showed destruction of sphenoid sinus wall and extension to right cavernous sinus, with aspergillosis confirmed by biopsy. He developed right hemispheric stroke and died.
