This was a 37 week old patient with fetal demise at 21 weeks gestation who had fungal elements in her blood smear at delivery and died shortly thereafter of disseminated cryptococcosis. The extent of involvement of the brain is demonstrated in these MRIs showing prominent basal ganglia soap bubbles and similar involvement of the dentate nucleus of the cerebellum.
