Case 2 History ---- This is a 37 year old man with a history of HIV, AIDS dementia, cryptococcal meningitis and a cerebrovascular accident. Similar to the previous case the infarct in the basal ganglion failed to contain organisms which were numerous in the region of the lenticulostriate origins from the right middle cerebral artery and likely resulted from similar cryptococcus-induced vasculopathy.
