12B1-7 The gross specimens show striking numbers of lesions, frequently at gray-white junctions (if small, like 12B2), with hyperemic rims and purulent/necrotic content. At brain cutting conference we favored a bacterial origin, especially with known Streptococcal septicemia and were surprised with a fungal origin (+ a bacterial co-infection?, see Comment).
