Case 2 History ---- A 49-year-old woman originally from Honduras developed progressive altered mental status, headache, and right-sided weakness. MRI revealed two ring-enhancing lesions associated with edema. Workup demonstrated severe AIDS. At first worsening, treatment with the appropriate therapy and HAART resulted in survival with severe impairment. (Images from Virtual Slide, AANP 2014, Case 6). (H&E)
