1C4,5 In many sites there are small developing microglial, mononuclear and macrophage rich foci, with variable numbers of organisms (1C4, H&E) or lesions in which cysts, ranging up to 100 μm in diameter and containing large numbers of bradyzoites, are accompanied by relatively little reaction (arrow, 1C5), which may be developing lesions.
