Case 4 History ---- The patient was a 35 year old HIV-infected man who presented with right sided weakness, dysarthria, and altered mental status. MRI showed a 3.5 cm rim-enhancing left thalamic mass. He was treated empirically for toxoplasmosis with a favorable initial response which was not maintained due to adherence issues with his medication.
