Case 5 History ---- This patient was a 61 year old man with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis who received a lung transplant and developed progressive CMV pneumonitis, anemia, acidosis, hypotension and renal failure. ---- Focal areas of necrosis and hemorrhage developed in the pons (arrows) and other sites (2A2).
