1A1-3 Whole mount of spinal cord with vacuolar myelopathy stained with H&E (#1A1), LFB-PAS (#1A2) and Bielschowsky (#1A3) silver stains. In this case the involvement of the dorsal columns is markedly more impressive than involvement of the corticospinal tracts. With progressively increased magnifications shown in Figure #1A4-6 (4X), Figure #1A7-9 (10X) and Figure 1#A10-12 (40X). It is clear that myelin is lost mostly in parallel with axons.
