3A0 Case 3 History
Case 3 History ---- The patient was a 50 year old man with hepatitis C, cachexia, and diabetes who developed CMV retinitis, suspected CMV colitis and a diagnosis of HIV (CD4 count of 22). He developed psychomotor agitation, was uncooperative, present Babinski reflex and increased tone in his right leg, and tremor. Shortly he became more tremulous with ophthalmoplegia, severe agitation, and hallucinations. Brain MRI showed periventricular white-matter changes.
