Case 7 History ---- This 29 year old woman developed a severe headache and focal seizures. LP at the time of admission showed 180 mm water pressure, 88 cells (90% lymphocytic and 8% PMNs), protein 119 mg%, glucose 41 mg%). A brain biopsy demonstrated viral encephalitis consistent with HSV-I. The patient developed respirator dependency, followed by fixed pupils and died.
