1B0A,B The frozen section (1B0A) showed a complex mixture of a sea of macrophages, inflammatory cells and astrocytic proliferation to which the following diagnosis was made “Hypercellular brain tissue with reactive and atypical astrocytes and foamy cells, defer to permanents, strongly request additional tissue”. The smear (1B0B) showed a single markedly enlarged astrocyte (not seen at the initial intraoperative smear)
