Case 9 History ---- The patient was a 38 year old homosexual IV drug abuser with AIDS who developed cerebellar dysfunction, initially thought to represent toxoplasmosis. He developed progressively worsening symptoms with headache, nystagmus, double vision and brainstem signs and died three months after discharge.
