1E1 PML, Granule cell pattern (Case 1 surgical specimen) CD3 20X 2
1E1-3 There is a significant inflammatory cell infiltrate in the cerebellar granule cell layer in this illustrated case. CD3 T-cell co-receptor (#1E1) activates both the cytotoxic T-Cell (#1E2, CD8+ T cells) and also T helper cells (#1C3, CD4+ naïve T cells). ---- The hallmark of typical CNS IRIS following PML is described as having a pattern with particularly prominent CD8+ T-cell lymphocytic infiltration compared to CD4+ lymphocytes. In the current case CD8+ cells do not dominate numbers of CD4+ lymphocytes (CD3 IHC)
