1-3 Gross appearance of the cerebellar vermis in some patients with alcoholism is characterized by atrophy, particularly involving the anterior superior vermis, but may involve the entirety of the vermis or include the cerebellar hemispheres as well. The severity of atrophy varies from case to case.
